The cover letter is the second step to do after the CV (read how to create a successful CV/Resume). It is very important because allows you to stimulate the interest of the recruiter even if you do not have work experiences yet.

First of all:

  • Getting information about the company that offers the job.
  • If you answer to an offer by e-mail, putting the source and the job position for which you are applying to in the subject section.
  • Indicating the sender’s information (name, phone number and e-mail address).
  • Indicating the addressee’s information (company name or name and surname of the hiring manager).

Concerning the content of the cover letter, it is divided into three parts:

  1. In the first part speaking about your studies and qualifications obtained.
  2. In the second part writing your motivation, your qualities and strengths. Using clear and simple sentences to say why you are interested in the job. Defining your goals that you are really going to get, what you can do well and what you mark out. The tone should be between the informal and formal.
  3. In the last part: thanking and communicating your availability for an interview.

Do not forget to sign the letter and communicate enclosures CV and references. Read carefully again, it must be fluent and interesting, that makes the hire manager wants to contact you for an interview.
